Our Solution – Expert Independent Wall Soundproofing System
To significantly reduce airborne noise and restore the client’s peace and privacy, we installed our high-performance 12cm Independent Wall Soundproofing System, carefully designed to reduce sound transmission across party walls in domestic homes.
Key Measures Taken:
✔ Independent Metal Frame System
A freestanding frame was constructed, decoupled from both the existing wall and the surrounding floor and ceiling to prevent sound bridging.
✔ High-Density Acoustic Mineral Wool
The frame was densely packed with acoustic-grade mineral wool to absorb sound waves within the cavity space.
✔ Layered Acoustic Treatment
We applied multiple layers for maximum acoustic integrity:
Acoustic plasterboard for base mass
10kg acoustic rubber membrane to block low-frequency noise
Additional layer of dB board to reinforce soundproofing
✔ Precision Acoustic Sealing
All gaps and perimeter joints were sealed with specialist acoustic mastic to eliminate potential flanking paths.
✔ Plaster Skim & Finishing
Once complete, the wall was plaster skimmed and joinery reinstated, leaving the space fully prepared for redecoration.
Additional Performance Upgrade:
To further minimise floor cavity noise, we also installed high-density acoustic mineral wool 1 metre into the adjacent floor cavity, reducing vibration and resonance entering from below the party wall.
